The Anatomy of a Lifeless Living Room (2019) looks at the ways in which interior plants are transformed from living beings into objects. It invites participants to question how plants are used to construct and encourage identification with particular class-based lifestyles. The piece exists as a luxury plant wellness brand and set of services. The initial roll-out of the project took place in Spokane, WA, under the guise of Spokane Plant Wellness, where people can sign up to have their interior plants receive high-end, white glove services, such as a Refreshing rain soak, Leaf dusting & polish ritual, or No care monstera styling. The project as a whole acts as an interactive website, Instagram campaign, a durational performance, and participatory sociological research.
